i read the tutorial for how to make solid backgrounds in icons like this: and i cant figure out how to do it.

i'm using photoshop CS3 and i can't figure out why when i delete the background in the first step after using the lasso tool and making the cutout image the background is white not transparent and it doesn't work with trying to make the solid background afterwards. i hope that makes sense? any ideas?

Hey everyone =]

I have a question but i'unno if it  should go here or 'taihelp' so whatever. In the last chorus of "Down and Out" when William sings "dream of demons while you sleep that make you stutter when you speak", there's a backup voice that sort of sounds like ... dunno but I'm fairly sure there's the word "stutter" in there somewhere.

Who sings that part? Is it William and they just put it in there for the recording or is it someone else? Who sings parts like that when they perform live? I hope you know what I mean, I just re-read it to myself so I hope it does make sense.
